2024 Indycar - Season Discussion

Not sure I’m sold on the hybrid being available with ovals. I think it caused quite a few issues based on the weird wrecks.

I fear I’m becoming (or already am) old man yelling at clouds but it seems like a weird implementation.

Also some interesting names low down in quali

Apparently I’ve been living under an Indycar rock as they now have two races, gridded based on lap 1 & 2 in qualifying?

I believe they started this last year just for the Iowa double

Ok, NOW Daly is in for Harvey. Apparently there wasnt time yesterday for Connor to do a refresher session before last night’s race.

Still can’t get excited about Indycar on ovals, just doesn’t do it for me :man_shrugging: Also have to endure Leigh Diffie’s commentating :-1:

In fairness, Iowa is boring as hell since the repave. Some oval races are pretty exciting.

I agree about Diffey, never liked him in the booth.

Yeah typically Indy ovals can be fun when there are multiple grooves but that second Iowa race was a snoozer.

Rossi out for Sunday, yet another driver in a McLaren this season.

And he did great in qualifying considering the complete lack of practice, dealing with the new hybrid system, and using a different steering wheel.

OK street race.

Man those cars are tough and safe.
O’Ward sideways in a corner, hit after hit, no issue.
Ferrucci launch and fence ride before a rollover, no issue.

I’m not sure what Power was thinking at the end though, stupid move on a teammate.

Ok… now I’m gonna have to watch the race on Peacock.

Is any IndyCar team doing more with less budget than the No. 14 team?

Daly takes 11 spots in two laps on the start!

…and finishes 3rd, up 22 spots from the start. Glad to see that.

So stoked for him. Killer drive. Nice to see an Oktane helmet on the podium again too!
