Great thanks!
Saw this one on ebay, seems to be ok.

That looks great! If I can get that quality I will be happy:)
What’s intended use?
@nikspeeds any clue which gen the sessions got stabilized?
Kart, mountain bike, motocross mostly.
Sessions are convenient but I relegated mine to rear cam. I imagine that the newer ones than I had are more useful as an only cam.
Issues twofold, image stabilization and battery life (integrated).
@tjkoyen what Gen session is that please.
@AndreLafond did you inherit my hero session back in the day and was it a 4?
I think it was Hero 7 that brought stabilization. Gyroflow works down to Hero/session 5.
I think the one you posted is mounted on the side of the helmet. Chin mounts I’ve found look a little too close the steering wheel. I’ve seen people recently using a 360 Cam on the top of their visor. I think this would be the best. Personally I stick a go pro 12 just above the visor, but it looks dumb and it’s dangerous if you crash.
About stabilization, with it, it will look like you’re going 15mph. If you leave it off the video actually gives some sense of speed. I’d go without it.

5 had it but it got really good with 7
Unless you have wide angle, then it looks quick. With max lens mod, it looks great. @nikspeeds is running chin with max lens now and I run front top.
My hero 12 with lens mod 2.0
Tanguy new Osmo 4 with normal lens looks great imho. For 200 bucks, seems fab.
Osmo 4 (on sale)
@johnu97 personally id avoid the 4 session unless the form factor was ideal (real small cube). Even then, id go for the newest small one, which is:
I prefer having current gen stabilization and 4k 60. Looking at TJs footage, you see that odd wobbliness/horizontal banding. It’s fine for the folks who are using it as a training tool\evidence of stuff tho.
I am super happy with the Osmo 4. 250 euros for the adventure pack (3 batteries, reinforced cases, quick release attachments, handle) I think it is a killer deal, especially when 4k120ips capable
The new Hero 4k is basically the session with updated tech. You get simple one-button operation with high quality video and a small package for $180. The only downside I see is that it has a non-replaceable battery so if you accidentally leave it running and kill the battery during a race day you have to charge it instead of just swap the battery.
I’d still spend $180 on that camera over the $100+ you’re linking for 10yr old used cameras.
Yeah at 50 bucks maybe.
Ok great thanks. I found this used one on ebay.
179 new with 1 year subscription. At 136 not a deal.
Dumb question what is a the subscription for, is it for their app?
I have a GoPro 11 and every now and then the recording will be corrupt and you’ll not have a video of the session. Super disappointing.
Anytime else have problems like this with their GoPros? How are other brands for stability?
Nah. It’s unlimited cloud storage when you upload. Discount on prices. $99 Replacement plan.
It’s worth it to me because it saves my footage to cloud (only footage, not edited vids).I have terabytes of footage. Shockingly, I have over 3800 videos on my channel. I was struggling with storage space so the sub solved some issues for me.
Basically, when you get home to your WiFi and you plug in cam, footage uploads to the cloud.
I have never had this issue but I also reformat sd card every time I go out.
I wonder if it’s a radiator mount vibration issue. I personally never had corrupted footage when racing owner karts but only had rear cam on rad. Actually, come to think of it, my front cam was on faring and vibrated like crazy too.
I believe it’s a 5 but not sure. I am a big fan of the session though.
