Geez you all have nice suits
The one guy in the Sparco Kerb stands out given the fancier stuffās
A great value imho
Aha! Alec has decided to step things up a bit and have a series suitā¦,
This might be my next suit since itās cool and I am lazy.
I have begun in earnestā¦
Just need to figure out how to convert logo to something i can mess around with color wise etc
Vectorizer.ai does a really good job of converting bitmaps to vector art using AI. I use it quite a bit these days for converting complicated logos I donāt want to trace by mouse.
Who made the logo? Surely they have the vector file.
So I purchased the file from Shutterstock. Its an EPS file. I am assuming its either a bitmap or a vector already. The issue is Im so out of practice with Illustrator. The typeface needs to be vectored into a graphical object. You used to convert to outline I thinkā¦ Objective is to play with colors etc since it will be on the violet. Will need to play with outlines etc.
If itās an .eps then yes, itās vector. If the typeface isnāt vector yet and is still live type you can indeed convert that to outlines in Illustrator (Cmd+O). Vectorizer.ai will take whatever image you feed it and convert everything to vector and give you whatever file type you request, so thatās probably the easiest route.
The file you sent me was a vector. I converted it to SVG for you so it works with Marinaās suit customizer (check mail)
I am finding illustrator annoying since I forgot everything.
Basically I want to convert the type to a graphical object with anchor points etc.
I then want to be able to stack the objects so that I can do āstrokesā (but not using stroke).
Imagine the word KART
bottom one blue with a 10pt stroke in blue.
Copy paste on top, but this time, pink, with 5pt stroke.
Copy paste but this time white with no stroke.
For some reason Iām struggling
I shall try command O tonight
Object ā Offset Path ā 5pt
Thatāll be your pink stroke.
Then select that pink object and repeat to get another 5pt offset around it. Thatās your blue stroke.
Thatāll offset the paths of the vectorized art (in this case, the word KART or REBEL SCUM RACING) and create a āstrokeā around the outside that is live with nodes and Bezier curves.
Ah I see back in the day we made layer sandwiches. Iāll try offset path. (Had something to do with screen printing and the way ink overlays I think)
Thank you!
You could do it with layers too, but I never really use layers in Illustrator. This means my files are incredibly difficult to navigate for others, but in my little brain it all makes it much easier for me.
I have given my wife (also a designer) some files for various things before and she opens them, sees all the art on one layer, and goes āwhat in the **** is this?ā
So what should go on front of suit?
I am sponsored by the bank of Dom.
Maybe I should put logos of various folks I have dealings with.
Warrens Speedcraft (Iām not worthy), Korsasport (also not worthy), Greater NJ Gynecological Associates, Centrum Silverā¦ I canāt do the weed thing anymore because I quit and my spouse would be pissed and I think Iād send the wrong message to the yoots.
Honestly wish I was sponsored by Haribo. Iād go all out on a Gummy Bear themed suit.
I keep getting this message whether Iām on PC or phone. I tried chrome but gives same message.
Oddly it works from time to time. Know if a workaround or alternate way to play with suit colors?
Aha! A belt! Note to self to not forget to add that.
I like it! Looks very cool! I love the vertical stripes. Was it custom design or did they have templates you could play around with colors on their designs? Did you do it from scratch with a template?
Another note to self: Also a cape. Gonna need a cape. Purple.
Struggling with trying to alter individual sections.
If I click the object, I canāt seem to modify the inner bits to not have a stroke. I want to exclude the center of the object, which contains finer objects, and modify these inner shapes individually.
I used an ai image generator to play with ideas until I got something I liked. Asked them to then replicate it as close as possible with their designer. This is what I sent.
Very cool. I should try ai too.
