Dragons are pretty prominent in Japanese culture too, so that’s not super strange. I don’t expect to see Alpinestars releasing a Chinese New Year edition shoe anytime soon so this would be the closest I would get to that.
Honestly I’d feel bad racing in the shoes and gloves and getting them dirty, but I do need a new pair of shoes and these are ones I really like.
The only negative I had with alpinestars is that the sole became very hard and slippery 5+ years in. The rubber lost all it oils or whatever. The shoes had been retired while the sole was still grippy.
Go for it. So far, I have had alpinestars twice and they were so far the best fitting.
Interesting. I’m not sure I’ve heard of that happening before, but it makes sense. Gonna have to start wrapping the shoes between events like we wrap tires right now
Nope, probably not necessary. I noticed the soles hardening after they had been retired and became sim slippers.
I’ve had my current pair of Tech 1 KZ since the start of 2020 and I have no complaints.

Design features I noticed:
Tounge has “wings” that presumably will prevent chafing and maybe help keep h20 out.
You don’t tie these. They are pull kind with a ratchet type thing instead of knot.
3 Shoe is 100% synthetic but seems to breathe better than the less expensive 1K model (these are 1KX).
Nice!! One thing about the clips to tighten them at one point or another I must of handled it way to hard or just flat out broke the piece. Treat them nicely 
still tightens just fine but the cord isn’t as pretty.
Thanks for the tip! I had to figure out how to “untie” them in the dark and it’s a bit fiddly at first. I can see how that might end up being where they break.
I am thinking that simple might be best. Also, using the same style/art across the suits will be a nice touch.
Who knows, maybe someday I’ll be able to have a permanent race team and we can all have suits and look menacing at enduros.
