I think it would fit, but may put it out of the ideal tuning window with the softer tires X30’s run.
The S55 frame is designed for the OK and KZ classes in CIK racing. Should be just fine unless there’s a nuance I’m missing…
My mistake. @KartingIsLife is 100% correct. (falls to knees bowing and uttering the words, " we’re not worthy" repeatedly)
GX160 mainly. Either a pair of them for outdoor tracks or a single for indoor tracks.
Your not helping, rofl.
Stay with the 206.
Do not pass go
Do not collect $200
If anyone was interested in the modified Subaru Robin class I run with, here is a video of a race from yesterday. Again, they are pushing around 16-18 hp. I’m in the black and green TB Kart Lo206 (at the begining of the video) and the only (local) 206 at that track. The Subaru’s have a very unique sound and they rev around 8,700 RPM.
One this track configuration, which I had never run before (shorter track), these guys were about 6 seconds faster than me on the 206. On a full track configuration times are usually: (Fastest times)
125cc- (Unknown, I never pay attention to those guys)
100cc- 59 seconds
Subaru- 1:05’s
206- 1:09’s
(Me- 1:12’s on a good day with a good tail wind)
I can beat the Subaru’s. I just have to unknowingly mount my transponder onto their kart (slightly ahead of theirs), and hope they don’t notice. Tell me I can’t podium, I’ll show you . . .
That exhaust setup is something else!
The 190cc mini bike engines I’m trying out arrived a couple of weeks ago…
Still a decent amount of work to go to get this on the kart.
Yeah they all run those exhaust, very snappy/ poppy sounding aren’t they. Personally I love their unique sound. Can’t confuse them for anything else, thats for sure.
Very high compression motors the way they are set up. You notice that when they try to pull start them. None of them seem to be able to do it from the seated position.
Definitely more throaty sounding than a 206.
Looks awesome, but the engine sounds like it’s farting…
Agreed, but its a cool sounding fart . . .
The Subaru guys are always trying to talk me out of 206 and into Subaru. They’re cool in all, but at $3,400 and having to constantly having to wrench on them in order to keep them running. I’ll pass. For that money I’d jump into a 2-stroke.
They are fun to watch thou.
Up here in the PNW we have a ton of people running Briggs 206 (both junior and senior) and then a decent contingent running what we call CMC World Formula Pro (the Briggs WF engine). Most people running WF are doing so because they can’t make weight in Briggs 206. Our weight for 206 is 360lbs while the WF class is 390lbs. Being a 200lb dude…I needed to go to WF. There is a winter series here that does a Briggs 206 “Heavy” class that I might run. I hear that gets a really good turnout. Here’s the class structure up here (Classes – ICP CUP).
That’s interesting Dave, around here heavy weight for 206 is either 390 or 385lbs. I’m 215lbs walking talking all day long, and my kart weighs 165 lbs. So provided I have my 5 pound puck, and my gas tank full, I’m good to hook.
FYI: We’ve had some S55 shifters that worked really well. Don’t be afraid of strapping HP on that thing.
I like this expression… hook it up?
Military term. Means good to go!
Ah as in a tail hook? Is that a plane term?
Or maybe the sky hook! Where people have like backpacks with balloons flying on them or soemthing than a plane comes by with a hook and scoops em up. That’s a thing right?
His name is Bond. Elias Bond…
