Clutch lap from Lando. I hope he can bring it home tomorrow. I’ll be rooting for rain so Max can get back in the fight too.
So now I can’t watch f1 on YouTube tv as they’ve cancelled espn
and I hear that f1 is going to be on appletv next year ![]()
F1TV has been great, but yeah hopefully with the move to AppleTV the quality doesn’t go down the drain. I already pay for AppleTV so over all I think it’s a saving for me.
I enjoyed that race. Plenty of chaos at the beginning and then a lot of shifting strategies, Max driving his nuts off to get through the field… Oscar is absolutely bottling this championship and Lando is coming good when it matters most.
I am still surprised on how Oscar is mental booming. I really wonder what happened to him between Zandvoort, where he won and got a major break in the standings, and Baku, where he does 3 major mistakes (Jump Start, then stuck on the grid to finally bin it in the wall lap 1). This is uncharacteristic of him, as he would prefer to lose but still achieve a great result than just bin it.
My pedantic side coming out now but this is his first time having led the F1 WDC. So this is the characterisation process. You only really see a driver when the pressure is on.
Obviously F1 pressure is something else, but I would have expected him to show pressure issues in F3 or F2 at least.
Spec series, you don’t know a driver until real developmental pressure is on. He may improve over time. Also, Lando has, in my view, always had a touch more pace. No matter what, if the pressure is on and you’re trying to find time you’ve never really had… it can get tough real quick.
Sure but you are also risking your future in those series. The pressure has to be stupidly high. But yeah probably the pressure of the championship might be too much for him right now. In any case, lots of lessons to learn for Oscar this season
Yes and no. You need enough super licence points and to perform at a reasaonble level. Kimi never won, Max never did either (pre-Super Licence point system obv). Hadjar etc…. didn’t. They all got into F1. So winning isn’t an absolute requirement. Thus pressure profile is different. Winning the F2 championship isn’t make or break. Obviously Oscar can perform at a high level, but it’s different when it’s the ultimate goal of F1 and all the 100s of millions of development money that’s been spent.
I’m disappointed in losing the F1TV app and web broadcast. After initial pains they got it working great, and while a season pass is fairly expensive, appletv is quite a bit more. Nothing I’ve read says anything about still being able to select individual driver cameras, which is something I really like.
I just got an email today telling me exactly what you just said about F1 tv going through apple tv next year. My monthly subscription will end in December.
I love formula one and have been watching it since the late 70’s but the greed and commercialism is killing it for me.
Here’s what the email says:
“Your subscription
Considering these changes, this is what it means for your F1® TV Pro annual subscription.
Currently your annual subscription expires on 03 May 2026. After this date you will no longer be able to renew your F1® TV Pro annual subscription.”
So my subscription expires next year and I can’t renew it either at all (most likely) or after 3 May. But…
“2026 Onwards
From January 2026, our new Formula 1 broadcast partner in the US will be Apple TV. Next season F1® TV Premium will continue to be available in the U.S., included with an Apple TV subscription only.”
So it wont expire until after these races, but I can’t use it in 2026 at all? Is that even legal?

I wonder how the student rated apple music plan which gives you free Access Apple TV content with your Apple Music student subscription, if F1 will be behind a paywall.
The F1 media group is really getting on my nerves. First the AppleTV switch, and now Firefox is no longer a supported browser to watch. @&%$&^*
Private equity is your friend.
I didn’t even realize Firefox was still around!
I use Brave for everyday browsing but use Safari/Chrome for F1 specifically because Brave doesn’t work with F1TV.
am disappoint you are not a browser nerd like
nick. Firefox is way better from a privacy standpoint.
Better than Brave? That’s why I use Brave.
