I'm looking to buy my first kart

I found a guy who offered me a $3500 compkart didn’t say what year/how long he’s been using it thoughts?

Depends on a lot of factors. What model, year, use, etc.
It could be a good deal, but it could.be horrible too.

You don’t really want the Covert 3.0 for 206. You want the 4R.

If it is a roller, it does not appear to be a great deal. And as Matt says you want a 4R, not a covert 3.0 for 206 racing. If it includes all of the tuning parts - axles, caster pills, front stub axles, and front torsion bars, then it is a better deal, but as a beginner I am not sure that you want/need that stuff. A C2 and C3.2 axle should be all you need as a beginner.

As a point of reference, you can buy a two-three race old Compkart from J3 for $2500-$2900. J3 is the make/importer for Compkart.

If it is a complete kart, a 4R with a 206 motor on it, and it is low usage, then it is a Ok deal assuming a good 206 motor cost $1000-1200. Sorry I have no idea what a decent 206 is worth.

I would be targeting $2000 to $2500 for a good 4R roller with low usage. New a 4R is about $1000 cheaper new pricing.

It is fully race ready with a 206, but it’s a model 3.0 4R

That 4R is the model you want. Its called a Covert 3.0 4R.

At glance, it looks older due to the OTK nose and black spindles… If that has the removable right side seat strut, I’d probably pass.

For reference I sold both my 2020 8 race old 4Rs last year for $2500-$2700 race ready.

ah thanks for letting me know!
