K1 Speed and Circuit Announcement Whiteland Indy Track

Here is a announcement from Whiteland facebook. About K1 Speed and Circuit go into a partnership with Whiteland Kart Track 2025. Hope they run there 80 MPH electric outdoor Karts there too. I know K1 Speed Circuit has been wanting to get more tracks running them… They did buy a new fleet of CRG Gas karts thou.

K1 is trying to buy everything; their owner is flush with cash and just wants to spend it on racing stuff from what I understand.

We currently have a brand new fleet of CRG gas rentals to start the year here. I don’t know of any plans to immediately bring in electrics.

The discord response was . . . interesting.

As a patron who is also frustrated by the price changes, the discord is an embarrassment to the karting community. I am 0% surprised by it though, the racers at Whiteland lack quite a bit of “refinement”.

I know this is old news, but does this mean K1 are taking over management of rental/concession ops as well as competition/championship series?

What’s the drama on Discord for those of us not local to Whiteland?

Yes. Operations of the whole facility.

Lots of complaining/moaning about price increases. There are valid concerns in there, but unfortunately they are covered up by the delivery and tone of many of the complainers. Think of the worst facebook comment section you have seen recently and that will get you close to what it looked like when I finally deleted the discord app to get away from it.

I had an hour to kill so a scrolled to the beginning of the comments and read over the responses. It’s my least favorite type of criticism, which is criticism with no offer of a solution. I don’t know what the prices used to be, as I’m not a member, just someone looking to maybe practice a bit prior to a regional event there. But, they are very high compared to what we’re accustom to here in Wisconsin.

Hopefully, it all works out in the end for the members that want to race there.

That kind of dialog was one of the main reasons for starting these forums. It’s such an ugly look for the sport. I hoped there was just enough people out there that wanted to have adult conversations about karting.

A few (6-10) people chose to fly off the handle and act a fool in the help desk vs reaching out via the proper channels and sensibly voicing their concerns in a professional way.

Practice fee went up slightly. Garage holders that used to get free reign for practice now have to pay for their sessions. Garage rental went up a reasonable amount.

Race day fees are the same as they were.

Severe over-reaction all around.

Can I has link? Purely for amusement purposes.

Out of curiosity, what are their practice, race and garage rates? Not much info on the website.

Attached below is the new pricing introduction memo from the announcements channel on discord. I personally don’t see anything unreasonable. I pay more than $60 for a practice day when I go to events and I think I pay around $50-55 at New Castle when I go.

They’ve just announced that they are offering a season practice pass for $1000 for unlimited days.

They also will be allowing owner practice alternating with rentals after 5pm still.

That says “see attached schedule” for club race dates - but I haven’t seen this on their website yet. Is there a published 2025 club race date schedule?

May 11 date should be May 10, I believe. I told them the wrong number when we moved some things around.

All seems pretty reasonable to me :woman_shrugging:. Still a tiny fraction of an overall racing budget.

And people bitch about that? Good grief. Everything on there is a fair and reasonable. And a TON of track time available.

How big is the garage for $250/month?
