KA100 Spitting Springs

I have a weird issue that maybe someone else has been through. I keep losing the OEM exhaust pipe springs on my KA. I’ve removed the chamber saddle and replaced the rubber bushing on bottom. It all looks fine. I ended up putting Rotax springs on with safety wire around the header. It’s working but I’m still scratching my head how this could be happening.

Crossing the springs can help

Had that issue when we started KA this year. Was told that having out support out of alignment can make it more common. Haven’t had issue since and didn’t change anything except paying attention to the support location when we change ratios and move the engine.

Are you losing the header springs or the saddle springs? I have never had an issue with the pipe spring on the saddle but the header springs coming off has happened. Since these springs are under constant load they do lose their tension and should be replaced occasionally. I have switched to using the hole that is closer to the motor which puts extra tension on the spring and also wrapping with safety wire as you mention. Since those changes, we have not had an issue.
