I used to feel that way until I started writing more. Somehow clacking keys just lets my thoughts fall into place. Editing what you wrote helps!
I worked as a research scientist in the geospatial world for awhile and did a lot of writing of peer reviewed papers, proposals and reports to funding agencies. I learned to use stream of consciousness to start out then reorganize and rewrite. I worked on my Masters thesis at ridiculous hours sometimes because that’s when the words were coming! My wife was very understanding.
Writing, for sure, is a muscle.
Someday I speak pretty, too.
Absolutely. It was always easier writing when you were deeply involved in the project/process you’re writing about.
We walk in the garden of his turpulence…
turpulence
a tumultuous explosion of persona resulting in a feeling of total envelopment by another person’s presence.
His turpulence permeated the room, everyone knew when he was there.
I know what I’m watching for our after dinner movie now…
Yeah, it’s one of my wife’s favorite movies. If she finds it somewhere on cable, that’s what we’ll the watching!
We shoulda had him announce James at the Rock!
Akchooly I may suggest this movie to spouse tonite as well.
That would have been equal parts awesome and hilarious!
Had this piece from one of the Quad Cities TV stations pop up on my FB Feed… Jeff Scott and his son are featured in the video.
Also Jeff Scott (IIRC):
That’s a nice way to cover it, the emphasis being family time.
James if you do this again I’ll sponsor you but I’m gonna need you to wear your leathers from 1990’s road racing. Mad Max maximum aggression.
Every time I saw you, you appeared deep in thought… can’t imagine why after tackling this project and our race. I think we all learned a lot… thanks for sharing!
