Hey guys, last season we had an issue with starting my sons VLR, would always crank for a second the keep trying but seems like the bendix was not engaging. Fast forward to this season, new fresh rebuild, new starter, new battery, and when we tried to start it same problem. Tried another battery, changed the bendix and nothing. Could this be a wiring harness issue?
I went thru the same frustration and pain with mine. I switched to a KA100 harness and never had another problem

I had bought a KA100 for a second engine so I wasn’t down during rebuilds. The KA comes with the harness so it was easy for me. I can’t remember but I may have replaced the starter on the VLR with one for a KA too. The VLR starter isn’t “rebuildable” like the KA starter if my memory serves
