Seamless transmission for KZ

Looks to be a(n expensive) thing:

Still not FIA legal, though. Perhaps in a decade, if costs come down & it can be directly incorporated by the makers via license agreement.

electric shifting was legal in KZ but now isn’t. So I suspect what we have now is set until the end times i.e FIA go electric.

Shame really they banned electronic paddle shifts. Not alot of cost in the scheme of things running a kz.

The cable paddle shifters just wear your hands/forearms too quick. Even with training.

Yeah I would be down for some electronic shifting, it would help my aging body hold on to the thing a little easier. Still something cool about grabbing gears manually though. I have manuals in my cars for that exact reason.

have you tried our product ?

I tried X30 super shifter with paddles back in 2011.

It had an electronic actuator, and honestly. It wasn’t any faster.

For sure less demanding on the body, but the traditional stick is nice

our product is not electronic

Looks nice & simple, though the cables are a wear item & forearm fatigue due to mechanical leverage ratios will be an issue, even with a slick TM gearbox.

That’s the point.

Is this based on your experience?

Check out his video, specifically the start of the video where the driver shifts the next gear using the back of the fingers of the left hand.

That is our product ! in the video, Andrea explains how the paddle are working.
Our kz junior drivers use the paddles instead of the traditional ones.
It is not more demanding, it is just different as you keep your hands on the steering wheel all the time

Others who have posted here who’ve tried it. Also, M7 says to replace the cables annually.

I’m not knocking it at all. Just noting the limitations. Electric systems are more complex & require a battery. Everything has its limitations. Such is life. I would like to sample it. The straightforward simplicity alone is appealing, plus, it’s race legal. I kinda wish is used a push-pull cable, but that would be thicker gauge & create more binding resistance, which is probably why the smaller gauge pull cables were chosen.

The original question I posted was regarding forearm fatigue.

Yes, & I responded in kind.

Phenomenal power. Looks intoxicating.

I have the vamec one installed, which looks indentical to your one

I have to remove it as I can’t manage the forearm and hand pump.

Come near the end of a 15-20 lap race I loose alot of pace being unable to change the gears as quick by hand.

Also I get slower with it as the day goes on due to fatigue.

Yes, I have the vamec one installed. I will be removing it and going back to the gearstick.

I can’t say I have, but the vamec one is pretty much identical looking.

Unless there was a way to reduce the leverage required, but I can’t really think of something that would work.

My races could have 400-500 gear changes per race. So at the end of the day that could be 1200-1500 gear changes.
