Need some input on the problem that I have with a 30mm MadCroc chassis. A month ago took the kart out. The kart works good on a decently gripped up track but at this particular track the grip was marginal and the kart was very un-kart like. The kart would turn-in good but immediate after the rear would flat slide or so it seemed. The only way to drive it around the important hairpin turns was to slide the kart, so slow, as it’s not rolling off the turns.
I suspect there wasn’t sufficient grip to lift the IR or the IR only lifted momentary then set down. I’m able to access this track next weekend, so I’d like to try a few setups but thought maybe there might be some good advice out there. This is my plan:
Install a softer seat with a higher seat position to get the chassis to flex and put more load on the outside rear tire. Maybe even move the seat back slightly.
Raise the rear of the chassis. Already put a soft axle in it.
Go to MXP from MXC
Play with tire pressure. Will lowering the tire pressures increase grip? Yes, it might take more time to heat up but will a tire with lower pressure eventually have more grip. The tires are Hoosiers, pretty stiff sidewall.
