Did you get a chance to take a look at the sim racing wheel buyers guide that I posted around Post 19 in this thread? That might help.
The video? yes I did. It was very helpful. I didnt know the difference between belt driven and gear driven but now I know to look for a belt drive wheel. Hopefully I can find one
Have you found a decent deal? I have the same budget and Im also gonna use it for my xbox
I use a G920. It’s a decent entry-level wheel and it works for both XBox and PC. Walmart has them new for about $300.
I just got my setup on Tuesday so I still have a lot of bugs to work out (99% me, 1% wheel/pedals). After that I’d love to join in on some races. What tracks with the GT4 do you run?
I’ve done exactly one sprint car race. It was a total disaster and I loved every second of it. I’d be down to try more of those.
Otherwise I’ve mostly been doing practice laps in the Miata and Formula Sprint and a few races here and there. I’d be game to venture into more into the GT stuff though. I only started less than a week ago so I think I have a D road racing license and rookie for everything else.
Miata is fun, I would be happy to jump down and join in on some sessions.
I think it just follows all the IMSA tracks. This week is Road America. The class is multi-class with the RS3. I tried that but didn’t like the FWD.
If you guys want, add me as a friend on iRacing.
You guys got me wanting to build an iRacing rig. And I was about to sell my clubsport setup.
Running the Thrustmaster TX base 599XX EVO wheel with T3PA-PRO pedals. Had this for a year now and pretty happy with it. The last week is the most time I’ve spent on PC2, mostly Dirt Rally 2 and AC.
Dan,
Cool rig! Great minds think alike and all that!
If you don’t mind sharing, how much does a rig like that cost in total?
No no, definitely sell it. To me. Please.
Just kidding, you should hold on to that, going up I’m value and who knows how long this will last
I picked everything up from amazon. 239 for the Playseat, 148 for the pedals, 157 wheel, and 258 for the base. I didn’t check prices lately, but I’m sure you can get all of them for less now. Except for the seat, those stay around the same price. You could spend even less for a wheel kit that includes pedals. I’m really happy with my setup. The TX is belt drive, and to me it’s ust fine for now.
Project Cars2 upcoming event:
Car: BMW 2002 StanceWorks Edition
Track: Red Bull Ring National
My thought was to make it a timed race. Maybe 20 minute?
Give me some feedback with your thoughts, and then we’ll pick a time and day.
Thanks for the info. That set up looks like a ton of fun
Sounds good to me. Afternoon any day works
Copy that Dom, I’m happy with it. I was messing with some different cars tonight.
Really like the BMW 2002 SW, the car just feels GOOD. Plus I also had a soft spot for them. The other I’m working with that I like is the Caterham SP.
Just added to the list
Anytime after work hours is good for me
