Tall people - Pics of you in your kart!

Previous photos were in our 2 year old OTK. This was in our 3 race old new to us CRG 2 weeks ago.
Seat is set back per team measurements (I don’t recall) and is near flush with the bottom of the frame. Driver is just over 6-4

How are you liking that Chassis? I am similar in height, and I am considering picking up a CRG with a KA100 at the start of the summer. Leg room is a priority for me, and that looks pretty comfortable.

Has anyone tried to build a custom seat? Perhaps that is also way to fix a problem. I ran a custom seat that was built for Gary Lawson that was made by Beasely (I don’t think they make them anymore) fit wise it was great, however some rules prohibited it (a laydown seat with a CIK kart). The seat basically lowered me into a normal height position, and actually helped me fit because the width of them are slim compared to the other sprint seats. I am a wide body being able to sit square into the kart is very difficult, however the laydown did help.

The laydown version is illegal in most CIK classes, but they did develop a sprint version. It is the only seat I will ever own.

@Chef tough to compare, we have only had 1 day on a hot but green track and 1 day on mild and very green track. He says the front end isn’t as heavy, the steering is a bit less sensitive near center, but mid corner to exit the front feels much more responsive. He also went from a 23 race old kart to a 3 race old kart…
The real test will be when we hit high grip hot Texas summer racing. That is when we have struggled in 206 on the OTK and some in KA on the OTK. Cold, green, or wet tracks he was usually pretty competitive, which makes sense for a 6-4 kid.

Make sure you put seat stays on that thing. The seat struts are the first welds to break on an OTK, especially for us bigger guys. Facebook marketplace is littered with OTKs welded back together there.

The back of my heels rest in front of the green bar and the bottom of my heels rest on the heel stop. In my extreme case, because my knees are bent so much it makes my toes pitch forward at rest more than I would like. I sometime find my self consciously pulling back my toes to keep from dragging brake or throttle unintentionally. Given the space, I cannot roll the pedals anymore forward as the upper front bumper hoop will not allow and acts as a pedal stop.
