have you got photos of him in the kart?

And this has the seat in the OTK recommended location?

Yes. He has very long legs.

Ethan, would you let me know which 3rd party throttle pedal you are using? I struggle mightily to keep my foot off the cable in corners with my Exprit and would like to try your setup. Thanks!

I do. So for reference, I am 6’9" / 205.75 cm with and inseam of 36" / 91.44 cm. I am Leg and Torso, lol ! I use a front porch to move the pedal base out 4 inches / 10 cm and relocated the heel stop to match the pedal position. This gets my knees down with out sacrificing seat position / weight distribution. In addition I use the longer OTK steering shaft, steering wheel spacer/angle block, have my seat leaned back slightly and nearly even at the lowest point with the underside of the chassis rails. It is not perfect, but it works.

I had my front porch custom made, but I think CRG sells a generic kit that should work too.

I was having the same issue with my right foot bouncing off the exposed throttle cable in corners, especially bumpy ones. I relocated the exit point of the cable from the sleeve closer to the front hoop in front of the front axle. I went to a bicycle shop and bought bolt on cable stop that I could mount to the frame leaving only a few inches of exposed cable, also lowering the point of exit from the sleeve to keep my foot from banging it.

Exhaust spring on the pedal stiffens it up enough to stop the bouncing in my experience. Better throttle feel as well even for 206

Thanks @GregF - does that CRG bolt onto the OTK fairly easily? I’ll try without the extension but may definitely consider it if required.

I was told by Mike Jones of DKC it does, but I have not personally seen one fit to an OTK chassis.

Heres a part my company Mikkometalli makes. It relocates the throttle cable. Bolts to the existing hole in the pedal

I had the same problem with my foot hitting the throttle cable. I solved it by putting a bracket on the floor of my kart to keep my heal from sliding to far to the outside.

Thanks Greg, that’s a good idea - and easy to boot!

I can finally contribute my pictures. Just put the seat in my OTK TDX 32mm. Notable points:

  1. Pedals as far forward as possible
  2. Seat in OTK recommended spot
  3. Extended steering column (but think i didnt need this in the end)
  4. Adjustable steering boss (still need to fine tune).

Question: does the extended steering column impact performance/setup?

Im super pumped. Couple practice session this side of Christmas then into it next year

It depends. OTK offered two options in the extended steering column. One with the same Ackermann the other with a slight increase in Ackermann geometry. The later increases the mechanical jacking effect at a lower angle of steering input. The standard extended column should have no effect on setup.

That is a good idea, but does not address the weird amount of exposed throttle cable OTK has on their chassis. My foot was not bouncing off the pedal, it was rubbing against the exposed cable causing it to open the throttle. This was mainly an issue in T7 at my local track. A left handed hairpin at the end of a short straight. It is crucial to get the throttle application correct for a good exit and the next sequence of corners before the main straight.

Is your heel siting on the green bar?

for a tall and heavy, what’s the downside with going with 32mm? could it get overstuck on grippy days?

If you’re asking me? Yep. The foot rest is as far back as it goes including flipping the footrest to be concave, and as many spaces on the kart side as opposed to the nose cone side.

That is where we have run our OTK footrests. Maximum spacers, flipped forward, heel against the front tube and footrest bar on top of the front tubes.
