That what i assume too. It may started long before i touched the gokart and now just gave up.
Today we had our historic meet at Kart Ring Klippan.
18 old karts made their way on to the track. A lot of fun!
I ran the PCR TSL95 today, no chance against the Rotax VME. VME is probably the best engine out there. So I wasn’t surprised he was way faster than me🤷🏼♀️
A little clip from yesterday with a unique perspective. I had a few more ideas on camera placement and some little tests to phyiscally see how the axle flexes during cornering, but of course not all my GoPros were cooperating.
Would be interesting to drop in a straight line in the video to get a reference point for the amount of deflection.
It’s a cool shot. Similar to the F1 cameras showing of the front wing flex at speed.
That’s what I was going to do but the vibrations make everything look wobbly.
I want to tie a string between the bearing cassettes and film the axle so we can see how the string stretches and compresses with chassis flex.
Like the scene in Down Periscope where Howard ties a string from one side of the submarine to the other to see how the boat compresses with water pressure as they dive.
I’ve been wanting to do same for a long time. A frame mounted laser pointed at the wheel rim might be worth trying. Might be hard to stabilize it.
That is a cool video. Would have expected more wheel lift in the turns. What tire pressure was this at?
Tire pressure was 20 psi.
Track wasn’t grippy enough to produce much lift, but that’s typical of Badger normally.
Sweden looks very nice in the summertime
This is sick. I love the view here. I played with the view here. I played with the idea of using a nice string-potentiometer connected to two points of the chassis to try and quantify “flex” but finding a good set of points to use and converting analogue to CAN and writing a custom sensor driver for the MyChron seemed like more trouble than it was worth.
Onboards from my brother and I last week in KA Masters at a G&J Night Race. I think the high frequency vibes in my mounts are killing the GoPro quality but its still a blast racing under the lights. The KA engines really love the cooler air instead of the 90 degree, 70% humidity Ohio daytime weather.

Why not log with a device other than mychron?
Just to be able to easily overlay with all of the other signals I have
Sweden is magical, blue skies and green grass. Good tracks as well, pretty high standards
How’s the food? Europe tends to be pretty good in that department.
Very good quality basically everywhere you go. Nothing is perfect or course but there are more better places than bad
What mount are you using? I’ve noticed that guys using the Odenthal mount have way more camera issues than those using the RAM setup. Because the RAM arms used rubber balls at the articulation points, there is quite a bit of vibration dampening. The Odenthal mount is fully rigid and as such, seems to transmit way more vibrations into the camera.
I think it is kind of funny that Odenthal keeps having to make new products to “fix” the flaw inherent in their design (and which is solved by a ~$50 RAM mount setup).
My own 3D printed design I’ve been using for the past couple of years. I added an extra “insurance” zip tie up at the top to the seat strut and I think that is what is what triggered the high frequency vibration. My videos from 2022 on an older design, for example, seemed a bit better
Oh wow! Very cool design!!! I wonder if you could design a version that has a layer of rubber between the mount plastic and the metal radiator tab on the chasis? Might help with vibrations!
