for some context, the dude who won every race preceeding this race didn’t race, so for the rest of us, it was our chance for glory. everyone was pushing pretty hard, as you can see. at the time, i didn’t actually see anything bad (i’m the 067), but i knew i hooked my rear bumper with the 20’s front bumper for about 2 seconds. the 000 bombing in and smoking the tires was a bit out of the norm, but it was that dudes first race at the track. there were some discussions about “giving racing room” among some drivers after this race.
I don’t see anything that would justify a black flag
I would agree but I’m perverted by wraparound bumpers and the lack of consequences they entail.
Onboard with Brennan Hanville in the RIGP 206 King of the Rock Final. Brennan started 25th, I (117) started 24th. We ended up finishing 10th and 9th, respectively. Lots of solid action.
Edit: Derek Hastings was on the wrenches and making our setup decisions all weekend and he gave us absolute rocketships. Thanks, Derek.
Black flags generally aren’t used because you can’t take it back if you’re wrong. It’s generally reserved for “this guy is being malicious or repeatedly being a hazard”.
000 definitely would have been warranted an RBF and maybe an avoidable contact call except that there wasn’t any position loss or real time loss.
The whole high speed front section looks like a blast at that speed
Yeah i like this track! Top speed is about 115 to 120 depending on grip in x30
We had an incredible battle in the rain this week but neither of our GoPros worked, so instead just watch this video of me and Ethan catching some 4-wheel slides in qualifying
Our video from the NCK West Coast GP at Laguna Seca. Not our best effort. Tuning and handling problems plus a sick driver. Next time.
Very Nice! I’m sure he’ll like it.
How much - if at all - does reversing the airbox intake effect jetting?
For as close as we get to the “edge” in jetting, no difference as far as I can tell. Other people with better feel for it than may be able to notice. Mostly it keeps the air box from filling up with tire debris.
