from what i know you dont wanna hear the limiter in the x30
You’re probably right. Being a bit quick and heavy with the right foot has been a bad habit of mine over the last couple years, and that last corner is probably one I should experiment more with trying to roll through just a little longer. Appreciate the tip.
We’ll see what Scott says when he gets this one back in a couple months lol
Interesting. I ride the limiter pretty regularly. Had never heard not to ride it. I see some egt climb cause of it. But nothing unsafe.
I think it might be that around 15500 it keeps rising but with negligible power. I think we’d hit 16,2 ish eos Etown. So presumably peak power happens before limiter, generally.
You can pound on the limiter in an X30, some tracks require you to to be fast. Not a worry.
It’s a funny track in that the exit of the slow bit at end of back run changes everything. Screw this up even slightly and you are losing time.
Yeah, you can gear for s1 and the 6-8 complex but I agree that you are rewarded for flowing 2-4 and 6-7 with less teeth.
What matters most is the timing of throttle between 3-4 and 7-8. Do this well with fewer teeth and you can fly.
I think 10-65 was my compromise in game.
Good to hear. We are a very tight technical track. With one straight to note. You have to gear it to pull the rest of the corners. And we still dip as low as 6k rpm’s.
I’m running the 4 hour next week at PKRA, want to run with me? I can’t do 4 hours alone ![]()
Hi Guys, been a while since I posted here. I want to share a video from a Dutch kart driver who makes interesting content, so what do you guys think of his video here:
I need to try an otk at some point. Neat vid.
you really should in my opinion otk is the easiest chassis to be fast on especily on a griped up track
Le punt, sorry, my bad
In which I pass some guys to regain P1

Had an eventful and interesting race. I qualified first and placed first in Pre. The young man behind me was right on my tail the whole time so it was defense city, particularly in Prefinal.
In the finals, I have lead early on but get a tippy tap or just plain mess up and go wide in 1, which gave him the opening he needed to jump into first.
However, I stayed right on him and, unfortunately, crashed us both in T5. My bad but I was trying to channel @tjkoyen thoughts about being a bit more assertive (yeet it down the inside).
We then (both of us) rallied, passed the three who passed us and finished as we started, 1 and 2. Yay!!!
I listened to TJ and was trying to be more aggressive and confident about claiming the apexes. For the most part, success. I did get a few inadvertent punts from folks not expecting me to go for the apex, but managed to hold on. See video above for example of t1 send that results in me, sideways, losing a couple spots, but catching it and carrying back on.
Anyways, after two aborted NJMP races in a row, I was super pleased to get out there and thrash about. Feels good to be karting, again.
Enjoy!
I’m not sure the “No Bumping” stickers on the new karts have the intended effect. ![]()
Nice pit maneuver Dom ![]()
something i saw from your passing and i don’t know if it applies to rentals but try pushing someone along the straits and entering the major braking zone move out last minute and pass them for example if u watch this video gopro motorplex x30jn - YouTube at 6:06 you can see what i ment
I was trying to do less pushing this race as I did too much of that last time out. My objective was to be less “cautious” and get around folks more deliberately.
Basically, if I had the run, rather than park on the bumper, I wanted to let the kart get legs and see if I could close off the next apex.
Nice pass!
Yea agreed. But did you see how I self-penalized to atone for my sin?
I think that move into 1 was cheeky Dom, I liked it. Probably squeezed down a bit too hard though for rental racing. I think you had enough overlap on him that you could’ve held the outside while still giving him room on the inside so he didn’t hit you. But would’ve been tough given how marble-y the outside is there. Good attempt though.
That’s why you gotta send down the INSIDE, not the outside.
I was inside. But then inside became outside! ![]()
Seriously though, what you are saying is if I’m left edge down straight (outside) that gives me the inside in 1. Here I took the inside position on straight and then pinched them out, taking inside of 1. Which was cheeky.
Yeah that kink isn’t a corner though… Just a curved straight. Clear as mud!
