I did get a punt doing this in attempt one. I see what you mean. But, was able to keep it on track of 1 exit and then managed the cut to apex bonk free next lap.
Thanks for the offer. I was considering it, but Iām gonna save my energy for turning laps Sunday. Last chance for clean laps before the chaos of the Rotax Race.
Yea you can. I did 3 at etown and it was fine. Alec did 6 at amp. Iām assuming lo206.
Yeah, but there were also mandatory fuel stops that lasted like 5 minutes, so you could rehydrate and take a break. None in this one AFAIK
The three hour I did had one break for like 3 mins. Seriously, it wasnāt hard. I could have gone 4 and Iām old.
The standing up and sitting back down each pit/driver change (to be fair to the other guys)was the hard part. Itās hard to get up when you are half dead, as we all have experienced.
Lol!!!
Hot tip re: increasing YouTube views⦠include word āPuntā in title and reap the eyeballs. The ācrashā vid has gotten 10x the views of the others from this past race.
I think you need a gaping mouth face reaction in your thumbnail to really get that algorithm working!
Do you think someone will understand if I punt them into a low earth orbit and just let them know it was for the views?

Hehe had not considered that idea. I think for YouTube views, punting your pal is acceptable. Just tell him that you are helping advance his race career.
I need some metric to justify this to my wife. ![]()
Listen honey just think of the several millions⦠Ugh, I mean cents we will make off ad revenue alone.
Haha thatās well done! ![]()
Subbed!
Gonna farm you some clicks cross posting it!
So then this happenedā¦

I did not notice this at the time, but watching my Quali vid, I saw that a rather unusual thing happened. I ran, effectively, an entire double session, getting faster (almost) each lap.
Context: This is my first race back at NJMP rental track which is the top half of the full track (excludes the Liberator loop). Itās a track I know well, from years past, but, itās been a while since I have driven it, and it was the first time on the new Sodis for me.
The session was warmup + quali, so off I went to see if I could recall how to drive these turns. By the end of lap 4 I have finished the parade lap, got the tires warmed up, and passed the slower traffic, taking the front position and have open track.
As you can see, from the moment I get open track, I go progressively, slightly, faster each lap starting lap 5 and continuing do do so until lap 13. While I have a great lap 14 going, I end up catching slower traffic in the final sector and have to go off-line to get past, losing a bit of time and killing the lap.
However, I am aware of this so I prioritize exit onto straight and get right back to business, bringing pace back in lap 15 and then setting new, faster laps 16-18.
In lap 19, I take t1 aggressively trying to get very much inside the kerbing and drop a wheel in the dirt, resulting in a somewhat compromised S1.
Undeterred, I then nail lap 20, setting a new purple time. I then run two quick but almost identical slightly off-pace laps 21-22. Then in lap 23, I nail the final, purple lap. I follow this off with a quick final lap 24, about a tenth off, and thatās all she wrote. Lap 25 is cooldown into Pit.
I dunno how common this is for you guys but I have been noticing that I seem to be getting a lot tighter in my lap time dispersion. Itās a thing I see in sim, a lot, with crazy identical laps to the thousandth, back-to-back, etc.
Itās odd to see this IRL for me. I donāt think Iāve ever done so many progressively faster laps like this. Not bad for my 2nd day out!
In Prefinals and Finals I find a bit more pace and land 44.5 purple laps.
This is such a kart-nerd moment for me and it makes me happy. ![]()
Hereās the video of the entire session:
First practice of the season in the books.
Was trying really just for seat time and adjusting lines a little bit with some overtakes, but trying to give everyone some space in the practices.
I was all excited to have race video to post. First race in the x30. It was meh at best. Finished better than anticipated based on the level of competition. But turns out my GoPro didnāt want to cooperate. Something got shook loose and it wonāt even turn on now.
How did you feel? Nice almost double pass at 3:10 or so in session 3. Track seems green as heck as you all are having little slippy moments on corner exit.
Any idea on what helmet mount I should use? Are there any removable ones?
@tjkoyen will the sticky ones peel anything or damage the helmet if you take it off?
We can slap a sticky mount on the kart for you. I doubt they would mind, I can ask. They will remove helmet paint if you try to pull it off.
Alternatively you could use my backup arai sk-6 which has a mount on it.
