I looked at my kart in the garage and decided I needed to get my butt in gear and get it ready for the season. Kicked my son in the butt to do the same. I also went to OKC while visiting my FIL in Florida and ran some laps in their rental karts. I discovered I still need to work on carrying speed through corners.
I also bumped into (not literally ) Ryan Norberg unloading a new kart. @Ryan_Norberg I was the old (ish) guy in the white Sentra at OKC who recognized you last weekend. Time to watch more of your videos!
Nice to see a fellow bumper repairer
Made it out to NCMP to test some chassis stuff, break in a couple engines, and meet up with @jsipplracing!
Awesome day. Broke in a fresh motor, and did some tuning with @Muskabeatz to get my new KZ pipe dialed in. Oh, and i broke my suit zipper so thats awesome..
Neither something I did to my kart, nor today.
But I wanted to tell you anyway
Two weeks ago I visited “you guys” and flew over to Dallas, TX.
We were fixin´ to find something like an arrive and drive deal for dirt oval racing but we were told that there is pretty much no such thing.
So one thing came to another and we ended up at an Outlaw race at Kennedale Speedway Park and ohhh boy, we had no idea what we were about to see…
You guys are fucking nuts, who even got to the idea to put 900 hp in a 1400 pound “car”?
Most American thing I´ve ever seen…
Can´t wait to be back
Of course I got myself a corn dog and a sweet tea, man I wish I could stay there
2 corn dogs and a beer will do fine dinner for me sir ! thanks for sharing the moment !!
What is this frankenstein engine ? lmao.
Is it a ROK shifter with a RKZ exhaust, ROK silencer and homologated airbox?
Hell yeah brother! That looks like quite the fun time.
I literally cannot think of anything more American than a corndog at a sprint car race. You had the experience that most of us dream of.
You nailed it! Rok Shifter, RKZ pipe, a Rok USA spec silencer, and the Active airbox.
It’s something I’m testing for road racing since the sanctioning body is going to allow me to run with the KZs. The engine just runs better with the KZ airbox rather than the Rok, and the pipe in theory will give me more power more in the top of the rev range.
@BuckonTrack, World of Outlaws Sprint Cars and NHRA Top Fuel/Funny Cars are both 2 of the most American forms of motorsport I can think of. More power available than you can utilize and the drivers and crews attempting to connect as much as they can to the track and drive on the ragged edge. WOO on the tight confines of Kennedale had to be quite the show!
Your car photo is of Sheldon Haudenshield’s car. His dad’s nickname was “The Wild Child”…fitting name for WOO Sprint Car Driver!
You managed to experience about the most American evening of racing possible!
Working on the old Tecno G10 today, changed the old red Nassau to a slightly more modern one. Had to make custom brackets in order for it to fit.
Also mounted a new seat and a overhaul of the brakes, mounted a new disc.
Not karting but karting adjacent (maybe?). I finished the steering on my racing lawnmower. Will soon put in a rear axle and will at that point have a roller. Next up will be a Chinese dirt bike engine.
Well when I thought I was ready… realized the seat stay was cracked. Ordered a cheap TIG welder. More to come.
Ok have you made out your will and medical directive?
Not my kart but many people’s karts.
We had over 25 new racers out for our Karting 101 event, including 8 brand new kid karts and 9 brand new 206 Sportsman racers. Karting is truly alive and well at the grassroots level if you can get the word out and provide a place for people to come and learn.
You guys are doing great things over there for local karting!
Really dig what OVKA is doing with this Karting 101 deal and what you’re doing for local karting @Bokeno_Racing
