Still racing as much as I’m able to, but I committed to being on the wrenches for one of my customers for all of Stars, and SKUSA New Castle. Will stink not to be in the seat (and defend my 3x consecutive King of the Castle ), but it will be fun working with this driver running KZ Pro, and a healthier cashflow arrangement
@WheelSpin - fortunately only two of those engines are mine, and the remainder are customer engines. Have another couple that are not pictured. These are all going out the door as people prepare to get on track. NCMP is now open…good times ahead!
I will try to give much more advanced warning for Rotax when dates are confirmed. If I can’t make STARS happen I’ll still be out for some testing when I visit family.
@tjkoyen Yeah, they don’t use pushbacks or closely tech noses. Also pretty confident in the repair on bonding so the nose won’t stuff in on him too easily. Splits and holes can be a PITA when it get stuff in.
Raced at Cresson TX this weekend with DFW Triple Crown. Horrible dust storms and 50mph winds for Friday. Pictures can’t do it justice, but it was insane to be on track with those conditions. Saturday we had 35-40mph wind and dust gone by 11am.
Sucked all day Friday 1/2 second off pace until final session where he found 3/10 in 1 corner.
Friday qualy, we were back to 1/2 second off. Heat race he cleaned it up and pulled P2 for the session. Final started P4 (used fastest lap from heat race for start position). Got up to P3 for a bit and got used up from behind. Ended up pulling off with a damaged rear end on kart from some rough driving. Other driver possibly facing a race ban, as he drove through people in multiple sessions. Such is racing sometimes.
Couple of pictures from Todd Freimiller Photography of Curt in the front pack going through turn 1.
I’ll be there with Timmy, but last year the J3 crew pit under the same tent when they showed up for Stars in New Castle so it’s entirely possible it’ll be the same situation again this time around. A teammate in KZ masters would be a welcome change of pace, just sayin’. Come join us in the deep end!
