Just for testing. Rotax rules are really strict, pretty sure it’s not allowed on race day. Still learning to tune a float style carb and I’m a nerd that likes data
I will be there too!

I’ll be at the NCMP night race as well! Come by garage 56 and say hey if you have some down time.
Will do 20 characters
I’ll be running late because I have to work until noon but I’ll be there!
Looks like the night race will be huge this year!
I’ll look for y’all Saturday at NCMP. And I’ll ask, if anyone has a 3 piece rear bumper they want to sell, let me know.
I’ll be pitting with the Monsions, if you know ‘em.
Not today but this weekend. Spent some time perfecting engine placement on my kids cadet 206. Man what a pain. But it is running inboard clutch and honestly im super happy with the placement. Now to get the seat firmly mounted and we will be about ready for 2023 testing.
My spare kart got stripped, and slapping a 206 on it to do some club racing.
New to karting.
Yesterday, at a friend’s well equipped shop, friend and I assembled everything on to the new LO206 engine and got it ready to assemble to the engine mount. Spent a bunch of time looking up how things went together, safety wiring, adjusting exhaust brackets, looking up torque specs (many are not specified), making sure we assembled the clutch correctly, making list of tools we used so I can purchase the ones I don’t have.
Interestingly we didn’t find any suggestions on whether the Hillard Inferno Flame clutch shoes should be leading or treating configuration. Decided to go with leading to minimize slipping. Also decided to use two black and two white springs. Would love feedback on this. If there is anyone running at PSGKA and PGP, I’d particularly appreciate their input.
It is going into a used OTK Fernando Alonso roller I bought earlier this summer. We moved the axle sprocket hub to the other side of the middle bearing cassette. For a minute we were perplexed why the disc brake hub wasn’t moving on the axle and then we realized that the hub was being held in the clamped position by the disc itself. Doh!
Started to trial fit the engine but decide we couldn’t finish it so we’ll pick up there next.
We have to figure out where on the Odenthal Mount to install the engine. Then, it will be on to the seat.
Overall, great experience because it is helping develop familiarity.
I set my Flame up the same way you chose to, and no issues. Same way for a few seasons now, and knock on wood, no issues ever.
Started assembly of the engine, engine mount and seat into the chassis.
Having a bear of a time deciding what to “fix” first because they all interact and affect the front/back and left/right weight distribution. If anyone has suggestions, on how to proceed, I’d be very grateful.
What class and chassis are you running?
The chassis is a 2018 OTK Fernando Alonso. Class is LO206.
Seat is Tillet T11. Engine mount is Odenthal. Chain is 219.
Also, was wondering what is the minimum gap we should have between the side of the chain and the seat support? Can it be 7.5mm or is that too little?
Looking forward to thoughts on the seat install and any other tips!
If you search on the forums or google there is a seating chart guide for OTK for front to back and side to side. Decent starting place.
Not super familiar with LO206, but I would get the motor/chain combo as close as you can to the left. Engine and chain shouldn’t move much relative to the seat post so 7.5mm or closer should be fine.
Get the seat where you want it relative to the right seat post and adjust the left one to suit. Use an axle/pry bar to bend it closer to the seat. Gently tap with a hammer to move it away. Be careful it really doesn’t take much to move it.
I would agree with this but depending on how flexible your seat is that may move some and your strut may move some. I think you are probably fine with the amount of clearance and depending on where the closest point is even it touches occasion it won’t be much.
