The what season??
‘Off season’ here is summer when the mercury tops 50 Celsius, there are still practice days (actually nights) and insanely hot endurance races for those with a serious addiction problem (like me hahaha)

Did you do the enduro in Dubai recently? The 24 hr one? IIRC that’s your home turf.
No I didn’t, they always do it on the same weekend as the Gulf 12 Hours at Yas, one of our business partners enters a car and always invites us to watch, kinda rude not to…it’s an awesome race too
But yeah Kartdrome is only an hour from my house, drive there often. They run Sodi races twice a month which I just started getting into, maximum was 38 on the grid! Awesome fun, carnage but fun.
38? According to the gentleman who runs our series at NJMP we are limited to 12. I don’t know is that’s a house rule or state law.
In any case that sounds great. How brutal is the 12hr? I presume you have a team of 4. How often do you alternate?

12hr is ok, teams up to 6 you decide your strategy and driver swaps, subject to minimum number of stops and a minimum time in the pits.
I guess 12 is a house rule…def doesn’t apply across the series - unless it’s a national thing as you say. Dunno.
That’s awesome. I love the fact that all 38 made it through turn 1. Must have been really fun racing with that many on the grid. I presume you are passing and being passed very frequently. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah it’s pretty mad for the first half dozen laps or so then it settles down. I race in masters (90kg limit) so usually mid pack. Last race I started P3 in class but got t boned on lap 2 by a crazy Canuck, he’s always at it. Got back to P4 then had open track n thought that’s it. But I tried everything, bouncing out of the seat onto straights, human DRS everything. Few laps from the end I spied P3 - got past him half way round the last lap! Epic race, tons of fun
Man I’m jealous. Gets below 0 Fahrenheit (rarely but it happens) out here
I really wanna try an endurance race. Seems like a ton of fun but there aren’t any near me
Circling back… how about this off season, season huh?
If we never get to kart again… For my funeral, put me in the kart, put my lifeless foot on the accelerator, press down and point me to the sea. Preferably at the top of the cliffs overlooking Blacks Beach in La Jolla, Ca. Simultaneously douse me in VP 98 and watch the fireball carry my racing spirit to quali in Valhalla.
When things get normal, since you ain’t far, we can Mebbe do one together. I have peeps to round out a team.
My first offseason has been a unique one that’s for sure
Yeah that would be fun. It’s been a while since I’ve been in a decent rental kart
Been finishing up the remodel of the trailer. Tore the kart totally down to nothing. Cleaning and putting back together. Totally prepped my spare motor and broke it in. Organizing the trailer where it makes logical since where I put everything.
Turned on the Xbox for the first time in years. Been playing a little bit of call of duty.
Other than that. House projects that I have been neglecting for a long time
Rental Karts usually in winter at Full Throttle Adrenaline Park pretty sure I won the Heavy class this year but no idea because of Covid.
I was going to build a Kart but now that isn’t likely to happen so I have been working on car projects I can do at home or at work. (Kart Projects are done usually at the Kart Shop or the Race Shop where Welding/CNC machines exist)
So who knows, I don’t even know if I will make it to Indy this year to race because of the delays re-building the chassis. I had planned to release weekly updates and a tech session to teach new technologies in karting to the masses that pretty much no one uses and are not currently banned. So far thats not happening. I hate to put out information without having the Data to back up the information etc… etc… and I can’t do that because no access to the machine shop/Dyno for awhile.
So who knows, maybe I will still put something out but I have pretty much stuck with working on my Car projects for now.
My kart is stored with my team. I haven’t been able to stress clean it
Kart and trailer were done early march…I go wipe it down once a week, put a little oil in the cylinder and turn it a couple revolutions in hopes we get to see some action soon.
Every single car I own (cept the truck) is fully detailed, ceramic coated, full of gas and just sitting there. That was all late march. The only car projects I currently have outstanding are some stage 3 bolt-on goodies for one of them and I broke a badge detailing one of them that I need to replace.
I did build a new PC, picked up a 35" ultrawide monitor and pulled my SIM rig back out of hibernation and got it all setup to pass the time on iRacing. I’ve found it to be a great distraction while still having some relevance. I forgot how much I hate the brake pedal setup though so so a load cell is probably the next progression on the sim rig. I should probably purchase kart kraft to mess around with it but really enjoying dipping my toes back into iRacing.
Fitness wise I’d love to say I’ve had nothing else to do but keep my head down on my fitness goals this year, but that’s not the case. With limited equipment at home, cold temps outside and work actually still being very busy for me I’ve not found my groove with working out from home and being around food all day it’s been difficult. I am back to my race weight from last year but I need to lose an extra 10lbs or so for the new class this year and I’m not there yet.
I’ve been sim racing, riding my bike on the trainer, and getting the nursery finished.
