Special test at Franciorta, manufacturers present for FIA is my understanding. So yeah, we’re basically at rental levels of bodywork if they get mandated

This is the ‘enough is enough’ point for me.
It’s like a CRG centurion rental kart! I was appreciating its covered wheels one rainy day.

Surely this is from the rain cover testing they did for F1, applying it to karts to reduce spray?
Very dumb and ugly. I don’t foresee this happening. I wouldn’t get too doomsday over it yet.

My understanding that this is not about that. It’s about reducing roll over risk. I’d be surprised not to see this implemented unless a safety risk is highlighted.
Spray reduction was my initial thought, but those are on slicks.
I don’t think things get to multiple solution prototype stage with the FIA unless they are going to bring them in, one way or another.

Well fortunately here in the US, this probably doesn’t affect us.

Is karting wheel covers implementation in Europe just cause for an asylum application there?
I’ve been looking for wheel covers for my rentals…. But they run studs so it makes at least some sense.
Do you now understand why i have left the FIA ?

You made the right choice. I actually feel embarrassed by this, I can’t imagine what you had to deal with.

If they are going to do that they may as well close the whole thing off the like Granja Viana in Brazil.

Oh heck yes I’ll race those. Pretend racecar but a kart!
Thats some mighty telephoto compression but I’ll bet, it being Brazil, that the racing is plenty nuts and busy.

Someone at the FIA must have seen this:

I think she finished wrong the next day too. The driver that got run over that is.
That’s a magnificent photo. You all dressed up, matching the kart, and you barely can see the knees that tower like the twin peaks of Kilimanjaro above the monumental nosecone. A+.
