Who Makes What (2022)

Tecno is it’s own independent manufacturer.

Anyone here ran a Trick LTS? I hear it was inspired by the Arrow design. Sorry if I missed it above in the thread but what is the deal with Arrow?

So are Leading Edge & AMP the only IPK importers in the US now? Was strongly considering a FK Evo 3 Shifter but neither AMP or LEM ever update their websites and if parts are PIA to get I may stick with OTK…

AMP is now Birel dealer, but they do have a large stock of left over IPK parts and a few full karts I think.

If you’re interested in IPK, I would suggest giving Greg at Leading Edge a call. Unless a dealer/importer is an especially high-volume operation, keeping an active and up-to-date web store seems pretty difficult. I’m sure he has plenty of parts on hand. I know others that have used IPK products and have liked them, so it may be worth a quick call.

I think the east coast importer is now Roger Hargens at ProSpeed KartSports in New Hampshire.

Wow no one used praga? In sweden its over 40% on almost every competition:sweat_smile::rofl:

In US it’s not as common as Europe nowadays. I’ve heard they had difficulties in the past with US distribution so they are probably risk-adverse. I was surprised too to see how little presence they have nowadays compared to rest of the world. I do run one, no problems so far

It seems like every year there’s someone new distributing IPK in the US.

There is a map on Ipk website

Just saw this, makes me wonder where this leaves Leading Edge as they were an importer.

They’ve been posting teasers of a private label IPK. Who knows what’s going on at this point.

Agree with Tyler, Didnt they have some new Gold frame chassis at supernats or one of those at the end of last year?

It was a brown Leading Edge branded chassis and looked to be IPK-made from the frame geometry and parts.

So I wonder what dealers, if any at all, are going to actually start carrying IPK stuff.

That’s great that there is US Support and all but I get a little put-off (and maybe for no good reason) when it is specifically a karting team that decides to become the sole importer for a brand and you don’t really have a quick and easy way (or storefront) to buy parts from. I’d like to buy from a US based kart shop if possible and avoid places like Mondo-Kart, etc.

There are a ton of IPK karts branded for various shops.

Sorry to bump an old thread.

What about CKR. Anyone ever heard of?

They’re listed as being manufactured by OMAPS srl. On the CKR website they say they build and homologate their own frames.

I was under the impression CKR was manufactured by CRG, but evidently that isn’t the case anymore. I’m assuming OMAPS Srl is the parent company for CKR and they do it all in house

I thought the same actually until I double checked. Not sure how recently that may have changed, but it seems like recent CKR quality has improved fwiw.
