So you gonna post a picture of you driving a weird French hot hatch on a track somewhere and leave us wondering?
Another ring session or somewhere else ?

It is! I assumed that was you sorry
Renault built a concept van with a mid-mounted F1 engine in it back in the day. Pretty awesome but not great cargo space…
That could get expensive if you corner hard and your kids spill the contents of their sippy cups into the injector trumpets.
It’s spray to pass: The guys in the back carry bottles of nitrous and spray into the trumpets when they need to pass.
If anyone is interested, the Hiace will be going up for sale before winter comes. A very fun adventure and I wish I could keep it, but we are downsizing back to two cars for the family, and I need to get a better all-rounder vehicle.
I’ll be cleaning it up, installing the third-row seats again, and probably listing it on Cars&Bids after that, but I figured since you guys all know the history, maybe someone would want it as is, with the karting specific rack system as well.
Just did a coolant flush and refilled with Toyota Red OEM coolant, and it just completed a trouble-free 12 hour round trip, fully loaded up with all my karting gear, with A/C blasting to New Castle and back. Super comfy ride, gets thumbs-up everywhere, very easy and pleasant to drive and maneuver around a paddock (short wheel-base and narrow vehicle). Plus the center console cooler/heater will keep your drinks at a good temp on the ride. Cruises nicely at 70-75mph on the interstate. I really love it, but unfortunately it’s just not practical for where my life is at right now.
If you’re really interested in a unique and fun karting rig, reach out via message and we can discuss further!
Or you could hide it somewhere and when Jacques is 17 he’d have the coolest car in high school.
I think *Fletcher would really love tooling around in such a weird old van. He loves riding in it and playing in it now. If he’s lucky enough to make 7 friends, they could all ride around with him too!
(Jacque (no s) is my wife).
Your wife is 17??
(Jokes)
Sad to see the hiace go, hopefully some lucky karter picks it up
Ah sorry used his middle name! My bad.
I inherited the family Volkswagen van (73) as my first teenager car and it was extremely cool. Much street cred with the deadhead set. It was, sadly, not fast, tho.
Oh yeah? Second place to you too!
In preparation for the sale, I washed it, waxed it, and got her out for some real photos in this beautiful fall weather. Gonna miss it!
It shines up nicely!
Auction is live! No reserve, ends next Friday.
Meanwhile, I continue to daily it and really love driving it.
Is that 36k on original engine or was it rebuilt?
36k total original miles on everything.
