I used to just pack ammunition to hunt with, spend it all immediately taking buffalo I couldn’t carry, and then inevitably die trying to ford a river that was deeper than my wagon.

Pretty realistic!

It’s amazing we made it west of the Mississippi. I’ve never managed to complete Civilization higher than “Dan Quayle”, for example. War, war never changes.

well i am playing the remake from 2021 and the feeling when i finally go to bed last night is that is a lot more forgivening than the original we use to play as kids , or i am a much better player now than the 12 years old stamatis back then !

i had manage to reach the third river lake with no one get killed , i am using the pelts that could take from the hunting and when it is time to pass the rivers i make the wagon a boat !

and float the water . or pay for the ferry to pass us to the other side .

leaving my team on a good morale before the good night save let me had a sweet dreams nap with the oregon area flourishing in front of my eyes ! lets go man !!!

Beat it in hardcore mode. You start with Dysentery and an irascible Puma harassing your Oxen.

Well lets see the oregon for the first time on normal difficulty sir ! And then we raise the bar !

Got my 2 mens with a broken leg and foot but we are just near a fort that they can be treated from a real doctor .

In meantime at our campfire tonight , clara had played the harmonica and morale went up the roof !

Fish and chips for dinner and stargazing!

Greetings from the rocky mountains !

I’m emotionally invested Stamatis. I live for the daily updates on how your party is surviving the journey.

This reminds me of Farley Mowat’s story, Never Cry Wolf. TLDR it wasn’t the wolves killing the caribou in ridiculous numbers, it was the men.

A very funny book, actually.

Dear diary, and my fellow Americans .

Jul 20 1849 .

Finally we had reach ford hall . The trip throw the upper desert was a pain in the arse . Walter smashed his leg on the wagon wheels due a sandstorm . But in than great fort i think we gonna find a doctor and heal the wound .

Charles has become a real master in fishing and we eat fresh trout . So morale is great .

I have learned from a peaceful indian that if we use grease on our wagons wheels we can have less damage and that i am doing all the way from now on .

For the first time we have taste sparkling water from the soda spring that we found on our way to the fort !

America is a big country and we learn to enjoy our trip on our way to oregon .

Lulu become a great pathfinder!

and its funny coz now one exept me didn’t want to get a kind optimistic missionary lady as a member of our trip when we start at day one from Independence .

Its time for a beer and some talking with the local folks in the fort .

God bless us all !!
