That’s a bullring setup right there. Did it get sloppy?
Nah, it was pretty respectful. I got my tires lifted off the ground at the start on the POV video, but that was probably the worst thing all night.
Ice was pretty slushy for the main though. You had to be a bottomfeeder or you were skating off to the outside. Tough to get by all the Heidenau karts too
That looks awesome but I cannot imagine the work the poor crew that maintains that rink had to do, especially after the event! I imagine they probably had to build up extra ice thickness first and then almost completely rebuild the ice sheet after.
That’s dope! Very nice.
Now that’s a cool idea!!!
Number 31 (Louisiana) coming in two weeks. My wallet’s sweating bullets
Gonna be kicking myself for a while over this one, but it was still a blast. TSRS from NOLA was a ton of fun, including the milestone of fastest I’ve ever gone in a kart (91 MPH). Should’ve podiumed this one easily, but that’s life. On to 32!
The top speed record of 91 makes me wonder if there’s a road race in any of the states you’ve yet to run
Pushing for Summit Point in WV this year, that’s the only one I can think of right now
So this got me thinking… I asked a buddy of mine that’s local to East Lansing and he’s in for a shifter race there. Wonder if this could actually become a thing, run in conjunction with the club series? Gonna reach out to the track soon, but want to see if anyone would be interested to come up. Optimal date for me is June 22/23
@Muskabeatz End of June is a lull period for Stars, think we can rally anyone?
@KartingIsLife send it with the 4 stroke?
@CrocIndy would be a week before your June 29/30 round with SIRA
@Charles_Kaneb you know anyone up that way who would be down?
I won’t be able to make it unfortunately. Anything involving travel like that is a no-go for me atm due to family obligations. I could see shifter interest being 50/50 for that track. Very low speed, but a lot going on within a small space, so could be a fun challenge.
Hmmm… I got a used set of MG Reds at the OVKA Swap meet and followed the advice of Shawn Bayliff for front end alignment of my Ignite. I could come up from Toledo to run the slow old guy class.
Lots of factors for me to make it to something like that, but I’ve never been there before, so maybe!
It’s a fun to drive, old school track. We’ve been there a couple of times and had fun.
Keith Bowerman, Todd Lemp, Alex Watzke, and Graham Henckel all own shifter karts in Michigan.
I’m liking where this is going.
Double podium to cap off number 32! The same two guys finished P1/P2 on both days, but I felt like I had a legitimate chance to win on Sunday, whereas they drove away from me the day before. Not upset with the result at all though, considering the lack of practice time and that I have Gone Briggin’ since August (not counting the ice race).
Hoping I can put a deal together for USPKS next month in Wisconsin
Keep us posted and I’ll try and make it down…
