Ryan is fairly active online, he responds to my questions a lot. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s reading this all. In which case he’s probably blushing and laughing his ass off

To be honest I’d say that sort of stuff is fine under Other Motorsports Incl Sim Racing . Especially if the computer question is about your sim rig or something.
Awesome to hear the backstory. I was just getting big into karting forums (not new to karting) when EKN changed everything and Bob’s crashed. The Bob’s crash was a big deal, but it seemed to recover for the dirt guys. I don’t believe EKN (the forums side of it) ever did recover. I am sad that I did not find this forum until just this year. It has been a lot of fun to see input from these guys. I used to learn a lot from TJ’s posts back on the EKN forums, so it is cool to see him still helping out and get to pick his brain.

Who is Kristin DirtyMouth and where is she now? She is quite a looker, but her talk about Calc and Differential curve on marketing effectiveness really has me drooling. 
Did she cross over with the change up? Her insight into sponsorship marketing sounded spot on and very relevant in any market!

Kristin wrote some really great stuff that is still 100% on point. Not 100% sure what she’s up to these day, but I think there’s maybe some family/children there. Her husband is an active sprint car racer I think

It’s more about people leaving their ego at the door and realizing that “winning all the things” or being in the sport forever doesn’t automatically make your opinion on something as valuable as you might think. That’s a very hard concept for many racers to accept it seems, because they are not looking at things from the other’s perspective.
What’s important is how your input can serve the question being asked or the topic of discussion. Which starts with understanding the question first… rather than dumping what you know as a response.
So this place is for the adult conversations basically, which drive longer form living articles. The ego spats and tribalism can go elsewhere.

Well Said James and is why I try to visit daily or more often if I can. Luckily my experience at track is similar to here too. Lots of comradery and support even if we are trying to beat each other!

That’s just it… At the track, all levels I found it to be like what you say here for the most part.
But online, well, keyboards etc., not so much.
Yeah there was a pretty big disconnect between the generally very chill scene at my club races and Facebook. EKN was dead. BOBs seemed to be for dirt. /r karting not so great.
We’ve had pretty good luck with a local private discord. Neat thing about KP is that it’s better behaved but also public.
