Grabbed a little over 100 laps of practice yesterday at DKC. Hadn’t been to the track in about 6 weeks and it wore him out! First time to have the CRG out on a warm day with some grip. Learned a few things that hopefully help for later in the summer.
Got some decent shots of his new gear. No good on track shots. Didn’t have the good camera, and he is the photo and video guru!
He raised a few bucks through some sponsorship and support to get a new custom OMP suit and fresh set of custom gloves from Driven Performance. Love how it turned out! If you check them out and order anything, drop A-Goodson in the discount field. It saves you money and gets him credit towards more gear!
After the cancellation of the first race due to standing water on the track, we finally got the first race at Fremont Raceway Park in. It was a beautiful day, sunny with highs in the mid 60s. My kart liked the conditions and I (42 Ignite) set a personal best lap time in a heat race. It has become clear that I need to improve my neck strength and overall fitness to keep up at a track as tight and busy as Fremont.
From road racing to Wilmington… you’re covering quite the spread!
LOL! Yeah, this was my first time at Wilmington and I gotta say it’s a handful in a shifter. Bumpy as hell, and theres always something to keep you on your toes (like the moss on the track right before the hairpin).
Shifter wasn’t up and running, so put our house kart together with a cotax and ran it old school bare bodywork this weekend. Don’t worry, I put numbers on it for race day.
Another great weekend at G&J, with 111 entries and another 30+ 206 Senior field! We have a couple of weeks off now until our next race on May 18th.
