Excellent just splendid!!

Did you get any air on the yomp on the back straight? I worked the BKS race there last year and the 100 cc two stroke guys got pretty close to liftoff there.

yeah it was lifting off slightly. My dad said everyone would look over when the RPMs went up lol

which config. of NJMP ?

Sorry for the late reply. Karting really isn’t a huge part of SCCA, there is no wheel to wheel racing for karts within the SCCA.

With that being said, for SCCA Autocross - There is a specific Class “Kart Modified”. It has been a class for about 20 years now. The ruleset for the class is geared towards shifters (different minimum weights for different engines) but Tags are allowed (they have a much lower minimum weight). Since Auto-X is always a standing start, shifters are preferred. For me, It’s fun and my preferred way to kart. It’s also very challenging as you’ll never, ever, run the same course more than once…soo…good luck figuring it out! =)

Here’s a fun example of an Autocross called a “PRO-SOLO” (It’s a national tour type of event), in which it’s mirrored courses with a drag tree start. In this case I got a relatively poor .8 reaction time (.5 is a perfect light) but a decent 1.7 60’ time. What you can’t see is the other kart in the left lane beside me. =)

Wet one at NCMP yesterday for the club race. Started P2 and got the holeshot. Led a few laps until spinning myself out in the scoreboard hairpin, but was able to recover to P2 and go purple for the race before getting a flat tire…bummer way to end the day, but was nice to have strong pace in the wet vs some good drivers.

Is just running the air box backwards enough to keep the water out?

In most cases yes, but in really heavy wet I prefer a rain cover. With the airbox I’m currently running (Righetti Active), inverting the top portion causes the intake to face more up than rearwards, so I install the rain cover, which is quite easy for that box since the cover is all self contained and doesn’t require additional mounts/clips/etc.

Thanks Sam. Thats cool.

Rounding up some of our local shifters for a weekly Wednesday night practice session, so I had to have some fun with chat gpt…for the sake of this thread I’m one of the exploded/dismembered karts :sob:

Here’s the progression as I fed it gradually more epic and ridiculous prompts:

I love it. I’m also feeling a bit uneasy.

At the end of the day, the AI needs the art that came before to make the art it creates, which doesn’t negate human creativity.

But, what would it look like 10 years hence where the AI art becomes larger and larger in the collective body of work it references when being “creative”?

Will we reach some sort of odd inflection point where the two paths diverge and we start seeing “human” art history no longer guiding the AI interpretation of art?

In a related note, I was playing with chat gpt for my endurance schedule and it’s creepily good and very flexible.

Warren shared with me some of the discussions about driving hes been having with AI Stig and it’s pretty nuts. So very thoughtful and on it.
