The circle of life. Karting life that is.
Big waves, big sound
2 Lanes is two guys and a lot of electronics. Theres something about how they make music that’s fascinating. They move to an internal beat that I wish I could sense, too. But, instead I offer this song of light, interrupted.
A terrible pun
What do you even call this era of music? Sugar coated 80s mega stadium ballad?
This is stranger things vintage
I love the aerial shot, too. Is that the downtown/touristy area?
Hey it looks like Ryan was in town for a race he needed to win. I guess the Karystos Kup is koveted by pro karters! (That’s Danny behind thinking he won but he’s in the wrong class race).
I recall “you got the look” by Roxette
Yes its the city center with the harbor . But around we got many villages seaside and mountainside based .
I didn’t know Billy Idol’s sister was in Roxette.
Hi I’m her brother…
Humanity has made great strides when it comes to representing zombie outbreaks. The 80s were quaint, zombie-wise.
Billy aged well and is physically ideal for kart racing:
|Heights|1.75 m|
|Height(s) Feet|5 feet and 8 inches|
|Heights in cm|175 cm|
|Weight|70 kg|
|Weight(s) in pound|154 pounds|
He could be quick, possibly.
Racing with myself (ah, oh, oh-oh)
Racing with myself (ah, oh, oh-oh)
When there’s no one to pass, I’ll still be on the gas
And I’ll be racing with myself, ah, oh, oh-oh
Clever!!
I was gonna try to elaborate but the actual lyrics are just too good:
“Oh, my ladies all wet, yeah, sweat, sweat
I wanna sweat, sweat, sweat, sweat, sweat, sweat
Sweat, sweat, sweat, sweat, sweat, sweat
Sweat, sweat, sweat, sweat, sweat, sweat
Sweat, sweat, sweat, ow!
Sweating with myself
I’m dancing with myself, myself
I’m all right”
Yes Billy, you are more than allright.
Isn’t this song about something inappropriate?
And here’s something contemporary that pairs nicely:
Its stimulating!
(I wonder if Billy Idol ever met Tim Curry, they seem to have a similar irreverence).
Idol told Rolling Stone: “The song really is about people being in a disenfranchised world where they’re left bereft, dancing with their own reflections.”
Billy got the idea after watching Japanese kids at a Tokyo disco “dancing with themselves” in a nightclub. The kids would dance in a pogo style up and down, and there were mirrors in the club so they could watch themselves doing it.
Idol concedes, however, that there is “some sort of masturbatory element” to the song.
I prefer lonely Japanese kids pogoing rather than Billy sharing fapp stories. Thanks for that!

Ironically it is “Pump Up The Jam” by the Belgian duo Technotronic
Jam on it
Some fellas skating a kerb on way home
So is the beastie boys album referencing this or vice versa? (the plane that says eat me on the BB album cover seems to be a take on this)
Four Tet
After I made this I realized I had subconsciously made a visual pun of sorts. Tet(e) is French for Head. 4-heads. His video is quite lovely to watch.
