What did you do to your kart today?

Very rare, dad has 2 of them at home

Interesting design, it was really special with the 2mm 40 axle

1010mm wheelbase

It was a track day that has everything.

Started with semi wet contitions , we went to up 1.5 bar to find some traction from tires .

Then sun rise again .

Back to 0.75 bar and the times was start to get better and better .

I did an 46.4 on my fourth session witch is my best till now at speedpark . Then i was quit due transmission problems on my vortex rok engine .

The other guys , went almost a second quicker than our previous training session .

I had an opportunity to drive the 175 iame super and its was a beast and a joy all to gether .
So different than my 125 class ride .

Nick with his rotax was the quickest man on track in the 125nsenior class , all day long .

Im sore pain and happy today .
Al lot of work waiting us in the garage . But we feeling ready to try our luck in a bigger and national type racetrack field next time .

And thats what will do .

Good evening america !!

Total brake overhaul?

Yep, hes had some brake issues the last few races. Stuck pistons, no power. Even after cleaning and bleeding them, they were still problematic, so i ordered all new soft parts and new pads.

Finished a top and bottom end rebuild on my TM R2. Got it installed on the GP chassis I’ve been using lately, and did a couple of heat cycles.

I was able to test all sorts of whacky stuff last week at NCMP. This was a couple days after the rainy USPKS weekend, and the track was the slickest dry surface I’ve ever seen at NCMP…first session I was 10 SECONDS OFF THE PACE. Gained about 8 seconds over the course of 7 runs, some of that was chassis adaptation, but most of it was track evolution. I was literally the only kart on track, so that was nice in one regard, but meant that the track progressed really slowly throughout the afternoon. The early sessions honestly felt like rain conditions even though the track was totally dry…crazy stuff.

Some of the the adjustment I tried were:

  • various front bars, including no bar
  • removing seat struts, went from 2 sets to zero, and back to one-
  • toe, went from 2mm/side to 6mm/side-
  • camber, anywhere from -4mm/side to +2mm/side-

Here’s a YT short for fun:

Very popular in greece also !

Together with . The bandid and the cannonball run . Those 3 movies was our internet to catch some americana breeze , before internet comes .

I’ll be curious to hear your impressions of the R2 vs the R1 as you get more testing time in. I’ve only ever run the R1 and it’s been tough to get a reliable perspective on how it actually compares to the newer R2, and if it’s something I should look into upgrading to eventually.

Here’s my take. The caveat I’ll put out there is it of course depends on how the cylinder is prepared, and how the motor is built. A strong R1 can still compete with strong R2’s.

The R2 (Total Black) is at a point now where it is better out of the box than an R1 is out of the box. The R1 takes more work on the cylinder in order to extract peak performance.

The really well-developed R2’s seem to have an advantage over the R1, but I didn’t really see that advantage start to take shape until late 2023/early 2024. TM has released multiple evolutions of the cylinder since the beginning of the homologation.

I’ve driven three different R2’s recently and they all performed a bit differently, as they were configured to be good in different areas. This particular cylinder is one I haven’t ran yet, so I’m curious to see how it performs, as it’s quite different from my others on paper when it comes to port configuration…will report back after I get the thing on track!

I work in a similar space in the winter and the one thing I wish I did was insulate the walls. It gets pretty cold in there during the winter… so much so that I have to break the bullet heater out.

Fellow sprinter owner, can one person get a kart vertical like this?

I can get the kart in on my own no problem, I think I can do it, haven’t tried yet.

Most people who store vertically are using a vertical stand, which could be managed with one person. Put the kart in the van on the ground, attach it to the vertical stand, and then lift up the front and position it on the way. It can be a little unwieldy doing it solo but definitely possible.

I have verticals for in the garage, wasn’t sure if it would fit in the van, I will give it a shot. I can handle them on my own in the shop as you said.

I think you’ll need a medium or high roof Sprinter for sure. And you may need to take the front bumper off the kart.

Yep, I’m in a high roof!! We’ll see if it fits. I have one newer/bumper on stand and one older/ bumper off stand which is 8inches shorter kart on. That one should fit no issue, not sure of the bumper on stand.
