So fresh !!
Anyone want to come help me mount a seat so I don’t spend 2 hours fussing about it being out by 1mm.
2 hours is the proper amount of time to spend fussing with a seat…
Found an old piece of aluminum I used for a fixture at work and modified it to bolt briggs heads to it, so I can hold them in a vise or clamp to a bench while I work on them.
The way the light falls on that suit… kind of interesting as a design. Vertical stripe including helmet.
Tore down our practice engine to get one ready for when the track opens. Stripped the head and ultrasonic dunked it for 25 minutes.
Before
After.
Well done clayton . Thats a bad ass black outfit. Love the helmet also
Thanks it’s getting a new wrap today. Ran out of time to get both it and the kart ready for the weekend.
Finished assembly. On Tuesday I’ll be going to Trackhouse to break in the engine and familiarize myself with the chassis. Then on Saturday & Sunday I’ll be doing some SCCA Autocross events.
That’s a great looking kart!
Changing a defect steering rod and the ball joint after practice . Also start of the routine maintenance on our tony /iame kart .
New battery charger and tester in the garage today , smarter than the old one , it stops when the battery is full or if he detects high temps . And with a choice of many battery types and a repair mode .
Has a cooling fan in him . Seems decent .
Stripped and inspected after the first session. Kart is very direct versus OTK. You think about turning and it goes and this was on god awful tires. Excited to throw on some fresh rubber and let it rip for real.
i am really like those compkART foot pedals , they look so much stronger and anti slipping versus the stock otk pedals .
Much much stiffer. Don’t feel them flex as much. OTK pedals I always put a bit of grip tape to help keep my feet from sliding.
I know theyre not exactly the same but when I drove my friends Birel it felt like it wanted to do a u turn going in a straight line, crazy how much front end it had especially compared to the otk I’ve driven.
I’ll probably get use to it, but I had to calm down the steering by going up a set of holes on the steering shaft and a click of negative camber. Worked like a charm.
I’ll try baseline again this weekend after a session or two. Could have been placebo from not turning laps for so long.
I found the Birel built stuff very pointy on the front end as well. Stiffer overall feeling but very aggressive turn in.
The Birel is very pointy, we have a S-14 which In that regard is the “worst” of them, from S-15 its gets better.
Im not sure if compkart is “just” Birel In another color or if they have a say In how its made. But they look really good.
