I believe they are at least somewhat different but still similar, @Muskabeatz probably knows. Personally I can’t stand the yellow but at least it’s easy to spot cracks.
I love the fluorescent yellow, but I’m a sucker for bright colors. Just so hard to keep it looking clean, same with Exprit orange. The deep metallic blue Compkart has is really nice. I’ll probably go that route next.
There are these cool changeable plates for steering speed/ackermann. Can make a change similar to the OTK slotted steering column. I’ll probably pick up a set to try. I do like that there are multiple options on the spindles vs OTK’s you run it how we say you run it spindles.
I assume that is why RPG always have their spindles covered or it’s just to mess with everyone. Which sounds way more fun.
The plages are nice feature and easy to change out, we at at times been using the 2 plates, but its a small change.
Spent the evening in the garage; piecing together a good carb and clutch, adjusted the valve lash, and then started reassembing the kart.
Changing bolt type with something that give us more ground clearence that the stock ones .
Got some good contacts under the floor pan in the last practice . So we gain some room with those and now the kerb riders its the first thing that is gonna hit the floor .
I like how those look, Where did you source them?
First Ride. Some normal teething issues that comes with assembling a new kart (Normal for me anyways, because this was my first time putting together a new kart =) ) but was able to break in the top end and get some push laps in. Kart was a easy to drive fast. I like it a lot so far.
From a local general tools and bolts store .
Its this one M6 thread . Galvanized type or you can find it as anodized .
McMaster Carr is bad for my bank balance.
I feel your pain. The customer service & sheer available selection of parts & materials is worth it.
Today my new chassis saw it’s first outing in the world of SCCA SOLO (Autocross). This is what I primarily do with shifter karts. The temps were mid 50’s, no sun and windy. The front tires on each run did not come until about halfway through the run (MG Greens) but in this weather that’s to be expected (They normally turn on VERY quickly). Since the weather was not great I decided to run the kart with a completely neutral front end (Caster/Camber/Toe) and ONLY adjust track width and pressures just to see what the kart would do.
I have to say, I am very pleased with how well the kart performed with such minimal changes. Once the weather starts to warm up I’ll start playing with setup more but for it work this well in sub-optimal conditions with a true “baseline” setup really pleased me. I’m very much looking forward to the rest of the season.
Spare parts arrived in house . Starting to build the old rotax max engine for the third kart of the team .
My friend nick got the bug also , so it is whrenching time . One more time .
Baby i love it !!!
Gonna need a team name so we can have a Rebel Scum Racing versus ? (Stamatis and pals) race.
Gonna be so weird having consistent grip level all the way through turn one.
Will be like it was prior to 2019… Aka, Fantastic.
The Turn 1 and (Short Track Turn 3/7) were horrible when they added traction modifier.
we had some talks about the racing team name with my friend and co founder George Simeonof . we thinking something like S&S
Racing Team
made with the rothmans racing colours palete or with the honda hrc colours palete . And beside the letters a bonsai tree as a logo .
wax on wax off my son !!
