What did you do to your kart today?

The KG507 nose. Just a different style of nose compared to the OTK options

Does anyone know the true difference in aero between the OTK nose and the 507?

I’m asking about the ‘new’ OTK clone of the 507. It’s juuuust different enough but curious if anyone has any from the factory input.

I believe OTK is using the same 507 nose as everyone else, just in white color.

Fresh ignition system for Nicks rotax /tony kart .

I guess tomorrow ww will know if everything works fine . The engine works like a charm on the stand .
But test always tells the true .

Beautiful practice day.

Doing some testing on Vegas, swapping over to new Mojos for the last session to prepare for the first club race in 3 weeks!

Thoughts on the differences between the two?

Also what class? Doesn’t look like a Rotax so curious where someone runs Mojo outside of a Rotax class….

Our club runs Mojo D2 for Lo206.

I absolutely love the Mojo D2. At Pitt race one set of slicks can last you all year and still be up front.
The D2s at Pitt seem to only get faster with heat cycles.

I’m still getting used to driving with a little more grip from the Vegas and seem to overdrive the tire easily. Cant seem to figure out how to take advantage of the extra grip. I should have put the Vegas on my MXCs instead of the MXJs will try that next time.

Don’t have alot of experience with higher grip tires so that’s definitely my issue. Trying to have a good run at summernats this year. So time to keep pushing!

Ran Friday and Saturday at KartMoto at Motorsport Ranch in Cresson TX. Drove home three hours Saturday for him to grab the closing stint of the night at Letourneau University’s SAE Road Endurance race. He is only 17, but gets to participate since my wife is on staff.
I need to go to work to rest.

What is that thing behind the seat on the SAE kart? A roll bar?

@Eric_Gunderson1 they have, I believe, 3 classes for motors. For chassis they have a range of karts from home built, to vintage, to later model race karts. About the only thing consistent is that every kart must have a roll hoop, belts, and front and rear markers for night. Those are all school requirements for insurance.

Did a little axle switcharoo (soft to neutral) while the kart is apart for cleaning between track days.

Yesterday was our first time karting in the snow. It is definitely more fun in the summer.

If you work for OSHA, keep scrolling…:stuck_out_tongue:

My boy isn’t quite strong enough yet to help get the karts on and off the stands and stacker and all my neighbors hate me. So I got creative and bolted my old KartLift winch to the celing and wired it up to a 20v Dewalt battery pack on the hand control. It’s really lound and shakes the whiole house, but my back sure feels better!

I use a similar concept in my trailer to fit two karts. I would be concerned that the amp draw on the dewalt battery might be asking for trouble otherwise good thinking.

That would be nice to have in a trailer!
I was concerned about the amp draw as well, but so far so good… Over the winter I swapped my Kart Lift over to the Dewalt batteries. I use the 20v packs, so the extra 6ish volts drops the amp draw a bit too. They use good quality Samsung cells, the 5ah packs can take a 50 amp hit, big ones even more. For the 10 seconds at a time that we run these things, the winch doesn’t seem to mind the voltage either, its pretty peppy now lol. I have it set up so it can take 2 small packs paralelled together or one bigger one. A pair of the 2.5ah packs so far lasted a full practice day and full race day of up and downs and never struggled once. It’s so much easier and lighter than the lead acid.

I had a black/red Honda Hurricane 600 in the late 80s (and my friend had a Ninja 600), so this was my favorite commercial:
