What did you do to your kart today?

Thats pretty good job straightening the shaft, I never had luck doing that.

It’s working. More annoyance than anger

Not so much what I did to my kart, but having recently moved I’m slowly getting settled into the new garage. More cabinet space, tooling and such for engine preparation, and also left some space for a little gym setup.

So what’s the sci-fi looking box for? It looks like a thing you stick your hands into to manipulate alien life forms in a sealed environment.

Anti- gravity as well! Nah, it’s a blast cabinet for cleaning parts.

Cleaning up HD space today and found a video of something “I did” about ten years ago but doesn’t warrant it’s own topic. I think this was the last shifter race I did. Seconds after I pulled 6th gear at about 90MPH (top is a little over 100) the spindle sheared off. From memory the brake disk “exploded” and took a bunch of front end stuff with it. There’s some pics out there from behind where I’m going along the straight and the wheel is rolling down the track to the right of me… Insane… The pics were on the old KP site which I took down a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah it was a good engine. We didn’t have to run airboxes while road racing either, so you get maximum intake noises.

I used to have one as well and I ran my first race in the US (Englishtown) with that engine … then tried the MXS and switched immediately to Modena kk1 by CPI karting (Phil)

Wild kart indeed! :joy::joy::joy::joy:

Was this G&J damage? I took it tough with both spindles snapping, no kart to kart contact involved. You definitely look like you had some contact somewhere.

EDIT: just noticed the youtube clip, so not G&J.

your spindle snapped right where my freeline spindles snapped.

Matt was at Whiteland. I was the one at G&J

What carb are you running with it?

Both Tryton HB27 and Baroni BF24

Equal performance between the two, but I find the Tryton to be more reliable in jetting
