What did you do to your kart today?

Aha! Guess who has more GoPros than he needs? Want an old 9? The world needs more Greek karting footage, and I can help with that, Rebel Scum sister team and all.

Staying in Denver on a family trip this week and took a couple of hours to visit Colorado Karting Circuit during their Winter Classic race yesterday. Really cool track that looks like a blast to drive.

In August I made my first post about getting back in to kartingafter a long time away……

I think I’m back in

Picked up these OTK Eos today through a work situation. Was too good to pass up :man_shrugging::man_shrugging:

You’ve gone from zero to collector in like 3 months

Looks great, but there’s a tragic deficiency of KZ karts in your garage :sob:

I just put the sticker kit on. Fun times…

Couple more little details and it’s a hotrod.

That looks very nice. Different. Maybe it’s the two color palette, the bold contrasting block shapes and letters… in any case…

I agree. All the dirt karts my dad painted back in the day were simple, 2 bright colors with “blocky” designs (usually checkers). His philosophy was that you wanted to be able to see the paint job while it was on track racing. Lots of little details tend to muddle the lines of the machine when viewed from afar or at speed. The bright red and white on this one definitely makes it standout. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a racing stripe I didn’t like. :joy:

Can’t ignore what I experienced. It can be quick but you have to work really hard for it. It felt like it was on a knife edge the whole time.

I haven’t driven an OTK shifter in a long time and not much period. I’ve always heard they aren’t great for shifter, obviously they still get results sometimes but the bulk of shifter isn’t OTK whereas the single speed classes are heavily OTK.

Yeah, I raced one in the tillotson class and my son still does. Absolutely fantastic it feels nothing like it does with the KZ.

Christmas Eve Laps!!!

I swapped from the size 32 IPK seat to my 33 VRK (both made by greyhound) on the RS kart.

The 32 was a tad snug on the old ribs. The chart shows the VRK to be a little stiffer than the IPK seat but I did a couple simple deflection tests and they seem to be very close. I also compared to a 2023 OTK seat, which was much stiffer.

The rotten kid and I finally cleaned the chain lube off everything and got the karts ready for storage. Needed to get them out of the garage and back in the trailer so I had room to work on my mothers car (done!) and my daughters car (while she’s out of the country between grad school semesters).

Tangential question… what do you all use to protect axles and bearings while in unheated storage? We coated everything generously with WD40.

Same - a good wipe down with a rag sprayed with WD. Seems to do the job for me :+1:
